Thanks for your interest in Government Logistics Solutions.
The concept behind our company is to utilize the government's purchasing
power to provide one best market price for lighting items in all 50
states. Currently, lighting products are purchased from many different
sources at different prices. This idea revolutionizes how lamps are
priced by providing the absolute best price at very low quantity levels.
Whether you purchase 1 or 1,000 bulbs, the price remains the same. Our
CEO, Charles M. Baker, has created a "win-win" situation for the
industry and the federal government.
After 20 years of exemplary service to the USAF, GLS's president and
chief executive, Charles M. Baker founded this corporation to continue
his quest of providing innovative ideas and prompt, professional
services to the industry as well as the federal and state governments.
While in the USAF, Mr. Baker was honored at a congressional reception in
Washington, DC for winning the federal government's Top Individual
Energy Award in 1994. He was considered the DOD's top lighting expert
and one of the main pioneers of the T-8 lighting system implementation
into the federal government. Charles lowered the cost of over 400
lighting items up to 75 percent at the Defense General Supply Center in
Richmond, VA. He was selected to represent the DOD at several federal
round tables for energy saving procurements with the other 25 federal
agencies.
He is also the top idea person in DOD's history of the suggestion
program (currently the ideas program), with a record number of
suggestions approved totaling 74. He earned over $260K in individual
cash award bonuses in two years, and a total savings to taxpayers of
$1.2 billion, all in electrical related items. Given Charles Baker's
outstanding service to the government, GLS is aptly suited to meet your
electrical and lighting needs.
